This "Roach Belly", with its curved cutting edge, was an extremely popular style sold by most North American fur trading companies in the 17th and 18th centuries. A typical English kitchen knife of the period, it features a full tang with integral bolsters, antiqued bone scales and a richly browned, 5" carbon steel blade. 9” overall and complete with heavy leather sheath decorated with cross- hatched incising. $28.99 each

Bent's Fort Scalping Knife with Sheath*

This classic style knife appeared extensively during the fur trade period and found its way to virtually every corner of the West. The hardwood handle is set off by brass wire wrapping at either end making a well-balanced knife with a firm grip. This attractive new knife features a straight brass guard with collar and dark hardwood grips decoratively attached using 2 large and 5 small brass pins. The 6¾" spear-point blade is a versatile style popular in the early to mid 1800's and ours is patterned after an original museum example. Reproduction -This new, enhanced line of period knives is based on historic examples and styles found throughout the colonial and Fur Trade era. They are hand-forged from carbon steel, tempered to hold a good edge and finished with a nice, aged patina to give them that truly authentic look and feel! Further, each is fitted with a handle made form a period correct wood that is well documented. Sheaths are made from higher quality, vegetable tanned leather in a nice, dark brown color and include a belt loop.

Rouchebury Trade Knife

Patterned exactly from a museum example, this authentic early trade knife features a heavy carbon steel blade with integral guard/bolster and decorative file markings that serve as additional gripping surfaces when in use. The authentic maker mark of "Southern & Richardson" is etched into the blade and the tapered handle is slightly oval in shape with a great feel. Made of genuine Camwood, a medium brown hardwood with a nice grain pattern. This is the same wood that was used on many original trade knives. Tennessee Belt Knife with Sheath*

This wicked looking scalper has a 7-3/4" long, tapered blade, still exhibiting a bit of the marks from hand forging. It features a Curly Maple handle with a pewter colored ferrule (guard) as shown. The round tang is attached with an iron washer at the butt end of the handle and peened to hold it securely in place. Overall length is 12-3/4" and a quality leather sheath is included. $59.99 each

Copperhead Rifleman's Knife 
with Sheath*

Long bladed knives were preferred by the riflemen and longhunters on the early Eastern frontier and this one fills the bill! Typical of many hand forged blades, this 8-1/2" slim, tapered one features a satin finish and some forging marks remaining. The genuine Curly Maple handle is fitted with a copper ferrule (guard) and secured to the round tang with an iron washer at the butt end of the handle with the tang peened in place to hold it. Furnished with its own fitted leather sheath, it is 13-1/2" long overall. $59.99 each
